Contaminated Land

The Land Sector team within EnviroCentre provides a range of services as detailed below.
Envirocente has undertaken an extensive range of contaminated land work for public and private organisations alike.  With local authorities contaminated land is generally regulated under Part IIA Contaminated Land Regulations and for Development Services under PAN33 planning applications. Work has involved assessment of contamination of brownfield sites for redevelopment where human health issues are examined utilising risk assessment methods as advocated by DEFRA Guidance such as CLEA.

EnviroCentre also aim to provide bespoke, best practice environmental options for private developers and land owners to minimise contamination risks. Our specialists can provide a one-stop-shop for a range of contaminated land services from intiial desk-top surveys (Phase I investigations) to remediation plans (Phase III) works.  Envirocentre has the capability to undertake quantitative risk assessments following intrusive investigations (Phase II) works.

EnviroCentre has specialist expertise in the assessment of contaminated sediments where it has utilised a risk management approach to enable the best practicable environmental option to be determined for the removal of contaminated sediments from estuaries.  The outcome of work in this area has resulted in the development of a disposal technique that is the first of its kind in the UK.
