Protected Species

Certain animal and plant species are listed on Annex IV of the Habitats Directive as species of European Community interest and in need of strict protection; those species listed in the Annex whose natural range includes any area in Great Britain are called ‘European protected species’. It is essential to consider the potential impact that a protected species may have on planning permission, construction and project costs.

EnviroCentre has experiences undertaking a wide range of ecological surveys for protected plant and animal species, developing Biodiversity and Habitat Management Plans and providing Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) for the construction phase of major development projects.
