EnviroCentre’s civil engineering, coastal processes, coastal ecology and EIA processes came together to design a solution and provide environmental assessment.

EnviroCentre have provided environmental support and guidance on the project for several years, leading to the submission of a planning application.

Our approach to environmental design was incorporated into design days and regular advice to Springfield, whereby mitigation and enhancement was built into the design.

This project involved close collaboration between AF Decom Offshore UK Ltd, Lerwick Port Authority (LPA) and Arch Henderson, the marine engineers for the project.

EnviroCentre were tasked with coordinating and preparing the EIA Screening and Scoping report, undertaking environmental assessment.

EnviroCentre designed, supervised and reported on the site investigation, providing additional technical support in relation to specific geochemical requirements.

EnviroCentre provided specialist sediment consultancy support to Peel Ports with respect to application for a dredging licence for maintenance dredging.

Following desktop assessment, EnviroCentre undertook hand-pitting, confirming the clearance works and subsequent upfilling with imported materials.
